Dear Member of the Family at LBC,

 

I am filled with excitement as we draw toward the big day (March 18th) on this journey of faith we have called, “Building a Dream”. So many people have worked so hard in setting our Church up for a successful capital campaign. Now it’s in the hands of God and our people.

 

Here is what we are asking you to do:

 

  1. Prayerfully and thoughtfully consider how you can sacrificially give above and beyond your regular tithe to “Building a Dream”.
  2. Determine with what kind of regularity you will be able to contribute.
  3. Let us know what you are planning so that we as a body can carefully plan the timing of our next step in the process.

 

In order to help us quantify what you intend to give toward “Building a Dream”, we are asking you to share your plan of giving with our finance team. This will make it possible for the building team to determine what we can expect from our people and how much help we will need from lending institutions. This will also let them know if we have the solid financial base we need in order to break ground immediately or if we need to wait a little longer.

 

With this letter you will find a plan of giving card and a privacy envelope. After careful thought and prayer please complete the card (One per family unit), then place the card in the privacy envelope and bring it to our regular morning worship service on March 18, 2007 our Commitment Sunday. We will receive the envelopes, place them on the alter and pray God’s richest blessing on them.

 

Only a small number of people from our finance and building team will see and count the cards. We will announce the final count on March 25, 2007 our Celebration Sunday. At that time we are asking you to make a first fruits offering toward the down payment of “Building a Dream”. A large offering on the 25th will minimize the interest that we will have to pay to the lending institutions.

 

You have always been a faithful and giving Church. I am confident that you will step up to the plate and knock one out of the Park for the Glory of God.
